Dear Colleague in Liberty,
 

So, you don’t think they are REALLY coming after your guns, huh? All hype and scare mongering, is it? 

So, you think that when the dust settles they may enact more annoying legislation or the president may issue an executive order or two, say, limiting ammo clips or tightening up gun registration laws, but not much more?  Not ideal, you say, but not the end of the Second Amendment, as we know it? 

After all, the Supreme Court has stopped the serious assaults on the Second Amendment with two recent landmark cases, D.C. v. Heller and McDonald v. Chicago, haven’t you heard?  And, don’t forget, the Senate Republicans, though in the minority, can still stop Dianne Feinstein’s gun-grabbing legislation in the Senate with a filibuster.  Sort of like how Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell and his merry band of GOP Senators stopped ObamaCare and the Obama tax increase and halted more giveaways to special interests?  Oh yeah, that’s a real plan to defend the Second Amendment.

But come on, you say, don’t freak out; even if Senator Feinstein browbeats Senate Republicans into submission, Republicans still control the House of Representatives, and everyone knows the Speaker John Boehner and House Republicans will stand fast on principle and never permit Nancy Pelosi to push a gun-grabbing Dianne-Feinstein Senate bill through the House.  Right? Right!

Wake up!  They are coming for your guns, all of them.  They have a plan, and they intend to implement it. 

Before you put your faith in the Heller and McDonald decisions, read what the Court actually said in those decisions, and bone up on what the courts have said about gun control in a raft of decisions after Heller and McDonald.

Writing for the Court in Heller, none other than Antonin Scalia reiterated the Court’s position that the Second Amendment only protects a right to possess a firearm in the home for self-defense, and that a broad spectrum of gun-control laws remains constitutionally permissible. Scalia wrote that the Second Amendment should not be understood as conferring a “right to keep and carry any weapon whatsoever in any manner whatsoever and for whatever purpose,” despite the clear language of the Second Amendment and the natural-rights philosophy on which it is based.  And, Scalia provided examples of laws the Court considers “presumptively lawful,” including restrictions on commercial sales of guns and limiting places where guns may be carried, such as schools.

Then in McDonald, which extended the Heller decision to state and local governments as well as the federal government, Justice Alito wrote for the majority:

“It is important to keep in mind that Heller, while striking down a law that prohibited the possession of handguns in the home, recognized that the right to keep and bear arms is not ‘a right to keep and carry any weapon whatsoever in any manner whatsoever and for whatever purpose.’ We made it clear in Heller that our holding did not cast doubt on such longstanding regulatory measures as ‘prohibitions on the possession of firearms by felons and the mentally ill,' ‘laws forbidding the carrying of firearms in sensitive places such as schools and government buildings, or laws imposing conditions and qualifications on the commercial sale of arms.’ We repeat those assurances here. Despite municipal respondents’ doomsday proclamations, incorporation does not imperil every law regulating firearms.”

Since the Heller decision, courts across the country have jumped on the Scalia Loophole to ignore and distort the Second Amendment, finding a wide variety of gun-control laws constitutional because the courts believe gun control can help prevent gun deaths, injuries, and crimes.

Make no mistake, the Court is methodically going about the business of doing to the Second Amendment precisely what it did to the Tenth Amendment, namely whittle it down and circumscribe to so much that it becomes as dead letter.

So, you still don’t believe me that they’re coming after your guns?  Well, don’t.  Believe the central-command post of the left-fascist movement in America today, The Daily Kos.  As William Anderson warned recently:

“The Daily Kos is one of the most influential Democratic Party sites and receives huge amounts of daily traffic. The Daily Kos does not repeat Democratic ‘talking points;’ it generates political talking points that later are found in mainstream publications and from Democratic politicians themselves. Thus, when the Daily Kos not only calls for prohibition on all privately owned firearms and lays out the political and legal road map on how to accomplish that political goal, Libertarians and others need to pay attention. These people are serious and are willing to use violent means to accomplish their ends.”

Here is what The Daily Kos says:

“The only way we can truly be safe and prevent further gun violence is to ban civilian ownership of all guns. That means everything. No pistols, no revolvers, no semiautomatic or automatic rifles. No bolt action. No breaking actions or falling blocks. Nothing."

Or, as Senator Dianne Feinstein said on CBS-TV’s "60 Minutes" back in 1995 when she jammed the original “assault-rifles” ban through the Senate: "If I could've gotten 51 votes in the Senate of the United States for an outright [gun] ban, picking up every one of them...'Mr. and Mrs. America, turn 'em all in,' I would have done it."
 
But again, don’t listen to me; listen to the gun-grabbing Senator herself:

The Daily Kos goes on to say that unfortunately its far-reaching goal of nullifying the Second Amendment isn’t yet possible.  They don’t have the votes.  But, not to worry; they have a strategy and a plan. And then, they lay it all out:

“The political will [to ban and confiscate all guns] is there, but the institutions are not. Honestly, this is a good thing. If we passed a law tomorrow banning all firearms, we would have massive noncompliance. What we need to do is establish the regulatory and informational institutions first. This is how we do it. . .”

What is the strategic objective of the gun grabbers?  The same objective articulated by former Clinton Attorney General Janet Reno 20 years ago: “Waiting periods are only a step. Registration is only a step. The prohibition of private firearms is the goal.”

What are the elements of the gun grabber’s strategy?  Simple:  First, nullify the Second Amendment by making gun ownership so onerous that people refuse to comply with the gun-control laws and regulations.  Then, create a Gestapo of federal agents to seek out and round up the “criminals” who violate the gun-control laws, and confiscate their guns.  In the mean time, while the Gestapo is being built and the left-fascist takeover of America is gradually unfolding, implement the social indoctrination campaign Obama Attorney General Eric Holder called for back in 1995 when he was one of Janet Reno’s U.S. Attorneys: Brainwash the American public.

At the 3:07 minute mark of this video, Eric Holder, then U.S. Attorney says:  “We should brainwash people into thinking about guns in a vastly different way.” 

The choice is yours.  Submit to brainwashing.  Put you faith in judges and Republican politicians to protect and preserve the Second Amendment and your right to own, bear and use guns in self-defense, or organize to punish any politician or judge who tries to implement their gun-grabbing plans. It is time to take back America, one amendment at a time.

Tell Congress You Won’t Tolerate Nullification of the 2nd Amendment

Send House Republicans an ultimatum:  If you pass ANY gun legislation, we will vote against you and if possible find a Republican to run against you; but at the very least we will organize your entire congressional district to throw your sorry behinds out of office. You no longer will hold us hostage with a lesser-of-two evils threat.  The lesser of two evils is still evil, and we will brand you with a blazing red E on your political forehead if you dare vote for any gun legislation, period. Non-negotiable. This is where we draw the line on the Republican Party.

It is also time for a Second-Amendment litmus test on judges. And, it is time to tell Republican Senators—who even in the minority have the power to stop federal judicial appointments—if you don’t apply the Second Amendment litmus test on confirming federal judges, we will vote against you, we will primary you, and we will organize your state to throw you out of office.

There is no time to lose.  Obama has said he wants to pass new gun-grabbing legislation this year.  Take Action Now!
