The Brandon Raub Case

Revolution Pac has just begun the defence of Brandon Raub's rights and the fight to stop these kinds of unconscionable criminal actions by our national, state and local governments.  Please join us in our efforts as we are gathering signatures of concerned citizens, filing Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests with state and federal agencies and using every available resource we can to preserve our civil liberties and constitutional republic. Virginia law provides remedies for these kinds of abuses by government but without concerned citizens demanding action as provided for in law, the politicians and bureaucrats will ignore the law and continue the abuse.

Brandon Raub Update: Suit filed over vet's detention
May 24, 2013 | AP | WTOP.com
Attorneys for The Rutherford Institute filed suit in Richmond over the weeklong detention last August of Brandon J. Raub, a veteran who served in Iraq and Afghanistan. Attorneys for Raub claimed his detention came under a federal program called "Operation Vigilant Eagle" involving surveillance of veterans who express views critical of the government. Read More...
Psychiatry Goes Insane
December 13, 2012 | Mike Adams | NaturalNews.com
The industry of modern psychiatry has officially gone insane. Virtually every emotion experienced by a human being -- sadness, grief, anxiety, frustration, impatience, excitement -- is now being classified as a "mental disorder" demanding chemical treatment (with prescription medications, of course). Meanwhile, the psychiatric-pharmaceutical complex is being conscripted/bribed by governments to help disarm Americans and make them compliant and submissive to the will of the state. Baiting The Psychiatric Trap
January 23, 2013 | Lawrence Hunter
President Obama's recent executive orders expand the troubling trend of using the psychiatric-pharmaceutical complex as a police arm of the government to sweep away individuals' constitutional rights. Using already dodgy mental-health laws, government is creating enveloping mental-health exceptions to the Constitution to deprive individuals of due process of law and their Fifth Amendment rights that used to protect them from being scooped off the street and disappeared into a government psychiatric gulag. Gradually, these myriad mental-health exceptions to the Constitution will swallow the Constitution and leave Americans exposed to arbitrary police power of the state. I call it "excepting away the Constitution."  Read More...
What The Assault On Gun Rights Can Tell Us About Oppressive Government More Generally
January 22, 2013 | Elizabeth Cameron | LewRockwell.com
The simple truth is, psychiatric drugs are implicated as a causative factor in mass shootings. Evidence of this abounds – certainly enough to justify a serious federal investigation. The government prefers to ignore this. Why? Because as long as they pretend not to see the connection, they can use the crisis du jour to fuel their gun grab; and because Big Pharma, who makes approximately a gazillion dollars a year on the sale of psych drugs, has tentacles into the government and lots of high-priced lobbyists, and the government is not keen to buck this power structure. The evidence keeps piling up that the more we pump psychotropic drugs into people, the more mass shootings we get. Arguments that neglect this evidence can be designed only to pave the way for increased drug sales and a tighter symbiotic power structure between Big Pharma and the State -- remember ObamaCare? You ain't seen nothin' yet. Read More...
Raubbing Veterans' Right To Bear Arms
December 03, 2012 | Associated Press | Fox News
When the FBI and Virginia police tried to "disappear" former Marine Brandon Raub into the Old Dominion psychiatric gulag, Raub’s attorney said his case "exposes the seedy underbelly of a governmental system that is targeting Americans – especially military veterans – for expressing their discontent over America’s rapid transition to a police state. It’s no coincidence that within days of Raub being seized at his Virginia home on August 16, 2012, and forcibly held in a VA psych ward, news reports started surfacing of other veterans having similar experiences. These incidents are merely the realization of various U.S. government initiatives dating back to 2009, including one dubbed Operation Vigilant Eagle which calls for surveillance of military veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan, characterizing them as extremists and potential domestic terrorist threats because they may be 'disgruntled, disillusioned or suffering from the psychological effects of war.'” Now Congress is getting into the act. Read More...
America's Poisonous Culture Of Fear
October 17, 2012 | John Whitehead | Rutherford Institute
Turn on the TV or flip open the newspaper on any given day, and you will find yourself accosted by reports of government corruption, corporate malfeasance, militarized police and marauding SWAT teams. Yet even more dangerous than these violations of our basic rights is the language they are couched in—the language of fear. And, as John Whitehead says in this week's podcast, the only thing that will improve our present condition is the taming of our fear.  Read More...
Raub's Attorney Demands Virginia Inspector General's Investigation
October 04, 2012 | John Whithead | Rutherford Institute
Brandon Raub's attorney has written the Virginia Inspector General demanding that he investigate the officers and agencies involved in the involuntary civil commitment of Raub during the period August 16 - 23, 2012. In that letter, Raub's attorney describes the assault and kidnapping of Raub under the color of civil committment statutes to be "at best, a misuse of the Commonwealth's involuntary commitment statues and, at worst, an abuse of those statutes to punish a citizen for speech that government officials found distasteful."  Read More...

Chesterfield Police Out Of Compliance With VFOIA
Wed, Oct 03, 2012 | Lawrence Hunter | Revolution PAC
The Chesterfield Police Chief has responded to the FOIA request by Revolution PAC chairman Larry Hunter with incomplete information. Hunter in turn wrote the Chesterfield Deputy County Attorney that the burden is not upon him, the requester, to specify every iota of information he is entitled to under the VFOIA: "I have requested that the chief provide me all information/communications related to the Raub incidents, and he is required under the law to search and secure all records and possessions of the Chesterfield police to comply thoroughly and in good faith with this request." Hunter further specified numerous ways Dupuis's response failed to comply with the Virginia Code and concluded, "His response is incomplete and lacking significant material that should have been provided in any good-faith response to my FOIA request," and he demanded the chief "review the deficiencies in his response to my FOIA request and remedy the violations of omission immediately."  Read More...
